Ondo election: PDP thugs attacking our supporters, says AD

Few weeks to the governorship election in Ondo State, the Alliance for Democracy has accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party of using thugs to disrupt the campaign and distract its candidate, Chief Olusola Oke.

The party appealed to the the state police command and other security agencies in the state to be proactive in the protection of their members before and during the governorship election, coming up on November 26, 2016.

The Director-General of Olusola Oke/Gani Dauda Campaign organization, Mr. Bola Ilori, made the allegation in a statement issued on Thursday .

Ilori said the AD was a fast growing political party in the country, both in members and structure, saying it was certain that the AD would defeat both the ruling party and the All Progressives Congress in the governorship election. He said that was the reason for the distraction.

He said, ” Recent experience confirmed that our members have been attacked in Idanre, Ose, Ikare, and Ondo city by known thugs of the ruling party and their sympathisers in the state.

” Part of the plans uncovered indicates that this incident would be on the rise in the coming days.”

He also alleged that some political distractors in the state were planning to make sure that the image of its candidate, Oke was brought to disrepute, using various media.
